The Yachts – Sydney to Hobart

On the 4th of January, Bucko and I went down to Constitution Dock to have a wander amongst the yachts which raced in the Sydney to Hobart race.  Three of the last race participants came into the dock while we were there, so of course we joined in the cheering, yelling and clapping etc to welcome the sailors to Hobart. We both felt lucky enough to be able to do so.  I really admire the people who sail the yachts down from Sydney to Hobart and across the Bass Strait, around Tasman Island and into the Derwent River to the docks; I don’t know how they do it.  Sydney folks, ‘our’ race is only one of many which end up in Tasmania early in the New Year.  There is the Melbourne to Hobart, which sails down the West Coast.  Launceston to Hobart – the L2H and the Melbourne to Launceston.  Have a look at the album to see a few of the pics we took and of course I had to have Alfa Romeo as the main shot, I even took a photo of the stern just so you can see it came from Auckland !!!
Click on View Full Album then select Slide show, if you wish you can also make the photos larger. Enjoy.
