Hobart - and loving it

Merry Christmas to All.  - Our Christmas photo was taken up in Penguin.

Paul and I are in Hobart, arrived here on Sunday, only a short trip down the road from Launceston - about 2hrs 30mins travel time. The road we took to Hobart, was a 'B road, which up until then had always been very good, not this one though, talk about rough,  In a small town along the way we stopped to stretch our legs and there was a notice on the Community Notice board about a pettion to have the road upgraded.  Anyway, a short distance from this town the road is actually in the process of being upgraded.  I suppose the fact an election is about to take place would not have had any influence on the decision to upgrade!!!!
On arrivng in Hobart, we checked into our park then took off to the local shopping centre to stock up on food for the next for days.  It felt really weird to be amongst lots of people, traffic lights and noise etc. Bucko and I decided we don't really like 'civilisation' too much, we have been enjoying the simple life for a while now and it is a great way to live.
Yesterday we woke early and off we went to the Salamanca Markets.  One good thing about not having much room in the van, I can't buy too much 'junk'!  Lee, I was able to find myself a gorgeous wee Depression Glass vase; it looks good in the van, with apricot coloured rosebuds in it.

Last night we had dinner around at our friend Tony Tonietto's house at Seven Mile Beach; it was lovely to see Tony again, especially as he is not well.  Anne, Tony's wife, cooked a fantastic Italian chicken meal with a green salad and home made bread. Our Christmas Day will be with Tony and Anne, we have decided to have a sea food lunch - Oysters, Tasmanian Salmon (cold smoked and hot smoked style), Mussels cooked Italian style, Prawns, fresh home cooked bread, Christmas Pudding and cake.  A feast to look forward to.

Have heaps more to tell of our trip so far, just trying to find the time to write!!!

The photo to the right was taken up near Low Head, the flower is of a New Zealand Pohutakawa Tree- a NZ Christmas Tree, I had to add this to the Blog.  I miss the sight of them flowering each Christmas, and I feel SO at home in Tasmania, it was good to see one of these gorgeous trees.

Well, I better sign off for now.  Paul and I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and God's Blessings for the New Year .
